The Position:

As an Ophthalmic Scribe at Panorama Eyecare, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver the best eyecare. The Role:

The Ophthalmic Scribe will contribute to the fulfillment of Panorama Eyecare's mission statement by providing technical support to a Doctor/Technician team with minimal supervision.

  • Transcribe all information regarding patient exam into the chart using standardized computer program generated notation and accurately record patient responses to options and information presented during exam
  • Keep doctor on time by seating patient ready to be seen and cleaning room after patient has left
  • Facilitate any procedure by getting equipment/supplies ready or by apprizing technical staff of that need
  • Facilitate effective communication through appropriate paperwork for letters, surgery scheduling, flow sheets, etc.
  • Complete route slips; making sure everyone that goes to the front desk has a charge, diagnosis and follow-up scheduling times and needs
  • Demonstrate competency at completing prescriptions for glasses and medication
  • Verify insurance protocol on all non-scheduled procedures before giving the chart to a technician
  • Educate the patient so that the patient has no questions at the end of the exam as well as hand out any appropriate literature. If there are questions that the scribe cannot answer, facilitate another technician contact to resolve questions
  • Support the technician team however possible
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • Superior listening skills required
  • Ability to ask questions and seek information in a professional manner
  • Medical Terminology a plus
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • No prior experience in exact setting is required

Additional Job Details:

  • Works at our clinic location, Boulder Eye Surgeons, 101 Eerie Pkwy Eerie, CO 80516 (with possibility of traveling to Boulder clinic at 4745 Arapahoe Ave 100, Boulder, CO 80303)
  • This is a Full-Time Position.
  • Compensation for this role will be $20 - $23.50 an hour based on experience/certification.
